Scope and Contents
The records consist of minutes of meetings 1-9 of the District committee, narrative reports, publicity materials, financial reports, instructions to participants, a copy of the constitution and bylaws, correspondence, and copies of letters soliciting participation.

The Northwest District Archives is the owner of the materials in the Christian Witness in Century 21 Collection and makes available reproductions for research, publication, and other uses. Written permission must be obtained from the Northwest District Archives before any reproduction use. Copyright resides with the creator of the documents or their heirs. The status of copyright is governed by the Copyright Law of the U. S. (Title 17, U.S.C.). In some cases, permission for use may require seeking additional authorization from the copyright owners.
Historical note
The Century 21 Exposition, otherwise known as the Seattle World's Fair, began a six-month run in the summer of 1962. Science was the theme and the Space Needle was the most memorable icon. The Exposition included in the Christian pavilion an event sponsored by the Greater Seattle Council of Churches called the "Christian Witness in Century 21." Since the Northwest District had congregations in the greater Seattle area, the District decided to participate in the program. Missouri Synod Week was August 20-26, 1962.
