The records contain biographical information (including a copy of his Reminiscences) and correspondence. The collection includes many of his monthly reports to the Mission Board, along with summaries, which he based on his notebooks of daily activities. Some of these reports are in German and in his handwriting. He also recorded on to note cards, arranged by city, all of the worship services he conducted; sometime in the past these cards were redistributed into the District's congregations files. A small scrapbook has clippings about people, congregations, and events of the District.
